Orange hair - what are my options?by kalikavissiaPosted 1 year, 2 months ago
I used an all over lightening kit specifically for turning dark hair pearl blond (lies, lies, lies!) and now I have light orange hair. What are my options here? Would purple work? Magenta?

It does'nt look really orange to me. Purple and magenta would both work. Pimpin purple by special effects or purple rain by Arctic Fox , or a nice rich pink like Cerise by Directions. Any dark pink would work and purple as long as the purple is'nt too blue (like a violet) then it will be good.

I do find it quite orange, but pretty too. You could enhance it with a bit of pink. It's not light enough for light purple in my opinion but probably dark purple would work..

Pimpin purple would look awesome.

This is your hair and your choice. Depends on what the final result a person would like. The red in the picture could be enhanced by a medium purple or a medium red. A light purple or light red would have little chance of changing the current color.
Sharing my story of lies, lies, lies with changing from dark to light hair with dye. While in college, I had medium brown hair and wanted gold blonde hair. The box dye bought was an ultra light beige blonde. The pictures on the side indicated and showed medium brown hair resulting in golden blonde hair. I followed the instructions an left it on for 25 minutes to 30 minutes then rinsing out the dye. My hair was as orange as an orange or a traffic cone. I was shocked. Box dyes form my experience are not as reliable as they may seem. Also learned form this to perform a strand test first with products intend to use.
Best of luck. These are my suggestions and opinion
