Big Giant Messby artrombaPosted 1 year, 2 months ago
Hey guys, so after a few years of getting my hair professionally bleached and colored, I said screw it, and decided to try it myself. I had extremely overgrown brown roots with a purple bottom. My hair is about shoulder length. So I got my friends together and we bleached it. Despite our best efforts, there was some banding from the bleach and some of my roots are still there. Despite that, we (stupidly) decided to charge ahead and put the pink on anyways. Then they said they would hit the roots with some purple just to make it look a little better. But, we were all very tired so we did a pretty awful job. Now, not only is the bleach job splotchy and banded, but the pink is splotchy too. What do I do from here? It is taking everything I've got to not just dye it all black. I started trying to take the pink out but it doesn't really want to budge. How do I fix this, and fast? (without going to a salon)

I'd say go over the whole thing with a darker purple... Or maybe a darker pink? Just try to camouflage the banding and splotchiness. I wouldn't try rebleaching it just yet. You could try washing with dandruff shampoo a few times to remove some of the pink. Sometimes that works. Or, try a color removing shampoo.
Not sure what you're trying to do though.

I have been considering purple as well! I guess I'm stuck between covering it up and prolonging the splotches or getting the pink totally out and rebleaching. I did the crushed vitamin C and shampoo thing today which got some pink out, but not much. I also ordered a Loreal color remover packet (which will hopefully work okay). If I stick with trying to remove the pink, when would it be safe to bleach again? I don't want my hair to fall out lol
