Pink Hair - 2 Questions (Lightening & Olaplex)by saachi23Posted 1 year, 5 months ago
Hi, So I just dyed my hair pink using punky colors flamingo pink. I diluted the color a lot (1 teaspoon of dye+ half a bottle of conditioner) but its still turned out far too bright. I have 2 questions for the same:
How can I lighten it without using bleach? I know I can shampoo but since I just colored 24 hrs ago i dont want all of the color to come out with the shampoo. I just need it to be a couple shades lighter like kind of between pastel and rose gold.
I bought Olaplex N° 3 and I wanted to know if it can be used over freshly dyed hair. Will it have any adverse reactions? Will it help lift the color a little? I have never used this product before so Im looking for a little advice on that

hello, if you use bleach o direct dye, you might stain the hair permanently so it would be better to fade the color before bleaching it. You can fade it with bleach and warm water but no developper (this opens the cuticle and allows the hair to release the color molecules) or plain anti-dandruff. once faded you can bleach it. You my use olaplaex n°3, its like a conditionner but it won't lift the hair. good luck!

I think if you were to just wash it once w virtually any shampoo it would be at the shade you wanted. I would just ride out the bright bc it will tone down fast to the color you want.

I washed it with a normal shampoo but it didn't lighten at all. They usually wash out but this one has stuck to my hair very strongly apparently. What do you think would happen if I tried a very mild bleach bath on this shade?
I have applied olaplex and plan on keeping it in overnight as it was a lot of damage lightening my hair from a level 10 to pale yellow. Hoping tomorrow's shampoo will lighten the color a little.
