Hello all, so I need some advice on the best way to accomplish my goal of going back to platinum without completely destroying my hair. I am including photos, in this order:
I have been bleaching my hair platinum for quite a while. My hair is naturally a dirty blonde so it can lighten to very platinum with relative ease and minimal damage. I decided a few months ago to try dyeing my hair pink for fun. I used arctic fox virgin pink diluted with shampoo. Then I decided I wanted to try going brunette. I used Ion Color Brilliance in demi permanent and I believe I used a 10 volume developer. My hope was that because it wasn't permanent, I could undo it if I didn't like it. It's been fun, but I am sick of it and miss my platinum. I did a vitamin c/dandruff shampoo treatment last night and it worked very well. My platinum is beginning to peek through. I am hoping I can do this once or twice more, then do a bleach wash on my ends and a normal bleach on my roots and tone the entire thing and be right back to my platinum. Is this the best route and is this realistic? Do you think I would be better off just doing a regular bleach on my ends for 10-15 minutes instead of bothering with diluting the bleach?
As you can see, my hair is very long and I don't want to burn it all off. I also don't want to pay 250 at a salon if I can accomplish this on my own. :) thanks much!
it also depends on how your hair is; the route ou are envisaging seems right to me : 1 or 2 vitamin C and dandruff shampoo, then bleach wash and see what you get. on what remains, use a gentle pleach with maximum 10 volumes to brighten your lengths and ends where needed, it should be fine. Good luck!
Suggest keep doing what you are doing. I am glad you had the self-confidence and courage to try pink. Best of luck!
Been supporting a friend and hoping she will gain the self-confidence needed to dye her hair a fun color like pink, green, yellow, or orange. She has remarked how vey pretty light green hair or light pink hair looks.
This is my opinion and suggestion.
thank you for your responses! yes I absolutely loved the pink and everyone else did too... I would constantly get stopped on the street and complimented, so tell your friend to go for it! :)
