I posted about going from white to red. I used vermillion red. The ending color was perfect Ariel red. I waited a week to wash again, knowing it would fade a lot. Well I just washed it and the roots where it was darker are still the same color but except for that 1” of hair it’s mostly faded to a dull orange. Will it be this bad next time since my base will be darker? What can I do to keep a darker red? Would permenant dye still fade the same way? Any other recommendations? I’ve read the article about reds and follow those steps. I think part of the problem was starting with such a light base color. Thoughts?
i would just do another coat of the dye you used, or switch if you can to something like special effects which stays in alot longer
Special effects is the way to go for longevoty. I would redye but maybe add some of the dye you're using to a co ditioner in order to extend the length of your hair color.

There are some spots that are nearly white again :( Is permenant dye any better?
not really adding peroxide wont help with staying power its about getting a good red and topping it up regularly permanant fades too and will fade brownish orange
