Hi so I have been on a hair journey. I have been trying to find a perfect color for me. I have had many trial and errors. But I want a color to compliment me. And I think I found it. I have tried dyeing blonde. Didn't work I tried dark red. It turned black. Had to buy color opps to take the color out. Bought Garnier nutrisse color 434. But it came out a bit blotchy. And honestly I need a more brighter color. So I have been doing research and I think I found my perfect shade. Garnier nutrisse color 535. So I haven't dyed my hair in 4 months and have considerable roots showing. Will I be able to put this new color over my old color or will I have to lighten it again to achieve this color? I am attaching a photo of my current hair color
Want to add that my natural hair color is Ash brown
as these colors are rather dark, I would not expect that you need to lighten your existing hair, before using the dye.

That's what I was thinking. But I did get the blondest box color I could get yesterday. I know I can't make my hair any lighter with a dye but I really don't want to bleach it again. But I am hoping it will make my hair more pores to receive the new color better.
