My hair is naturally dark brown.
I had never colored my hair before last year, and colored it 13 times in total, each time with permanent color.
I mostly used L'oreal Hicolor Hilift in Magenta.
I love having red hair, but it is simply too much work for a low maintenance girl like me.
It fades FAST, even washing in COLD water with expensive shampoos, it stains EVERYTHING, (my poor bathtub) and it has damaged my hair (used 30 volume each and every time) I'm planning on cutting most of my hair off. How can I remove the red color, and what's a good dye to use to get dark brown hair? Thanks.
I wouldn’t worry too much about removing the red too much as a dark brown dye will cover it if you get a ash brown . I would just wash the hell out of it over the course of a week using head and shoulders , then use a dark brown dye that ash toned . So a dark ash brown . This will cancel out the red tones . I’ve gone directly over my pillarbox reds many times without even fading , darkest browns just had a lovely mahogany hue in bright lights . Good luck :-)
yeah i would just put a dark ash or nuetral brown over it
