Hi everyone. I am new to this forum and was wondering if someone could help me come up with a formula to get blue black hair kind of on the lines of the attached picture, if not exact. I have naturally black hair as I am Asian with no blue in it. I went to a salon once and the stylist gave me a beautiful blue black without bleaching my hair. The stylist unfortunately left and noone has been able to give me the exact blue black color since then. I believe she had used Pravana vivids in blue with permanent black (to cover my gray roots). What I am not sure is, if she mixed it with the black or if she applied it after applying the black.
The salon that I currently go to tried to do the same but couldn't give the exact color. My current stylist says she mixes some blue with the permanent black to give a blue tint to my hair. It does show a bit in the sunlight but just not very prominent. She also mentioned of an option of something called "overlay" with Arctic Fox, which she said might show up more.
I was wondering if someone more experienced could help me decipher this. Does an overlay mean applying the blue Arctic Fox over my colored hair? Is that something I can do at home myself?
