I just dyed my brown hair today to blonde. It turned out an orangish yellow and my roots were blonde. So I figured the pastel pink would be light around the roots and a little darker around the orange parts... I was horribly wrong.. my orange parts were like 3parts orange and 1 part pink in shades.. help?? Should I put in a second application of pastel pink to turn the orangey pink to pastel pink? Ooooooor another application of blonde?? I also bough John Frieda Go Blonde shampoo, maybe that could help?? I seriously dont know what to do it's been YEARS since I dyed my hair and everything that was dyed was chopped off cause I wanted short hair. First pic is where my hair is. It's a tiny bit pinker than shown in the pic.. the second is where I wish for the color to be..
For a pastel pink you need a base hair color before dying of the color of the inside of a banana peel or very light beige blonde. Orange hair will not turn pale pink by just applying a pale pink semi-permanent hair dye. Also never heard of a shampoo to help a person go blonde. Shimmer lights is a purple based shampoo which deposits very little purple on the hair. Quantum Reds is a red based shampoo which deposits very little red on the hair.
Suggest find a way to lighten the orange hair to a very light beige blonde before applying a pastel pink shade.
These are my suggestions and opinion.
The John Freda shampoo is called Go Blonde. It doesnt help someone go blonde it's just the name. Should I dye my hair blonde again then do a pastel pink after the second blonde application??
to get pastel pink you need to bleach the hair to a light blonde with no orange tones then do the pink
Will it work even though I had already put in one application of pastel pink?
yeah it should really if the hair wasn't light enough for the pink to show it probably didn't stick in the first place so i think you can bleach again
Ok I'll have to go pick up another bleaching kit and a pastel pink dye again. I'm seriously hoping it works. If it does I'll post pics
I have done a similar thing and don't worry you will have your pastel soon :) I'm just repeating the already given advice but wanted to chime it anyways. Yes for sure bleach again and tone if possible pastel works best in near white hair. I got mine that way once by bleaching twice (about 1 week apart) and then sitting with purple shampoo on my head several nights in a row while I watched TV. The best option is probably getting a real toner from Sallys but I was working with what I already had at home and my natural dark brown hair looked like snow. <3
