MAJOR HELP PLEASEPosted 2 years, 1 month ago
tl;dr: completely fried my hair- need cure(s)/advice
Alright, I know I completely messed up, now I just need all the help and advice I can get from anyone/everyone...
(Just in case this helps, my orignal hair color is dirty blonde hair)
It all started a month ago...- (I had shoulder length hair) Exactly May 28th: -Started off with what they call in France a, "décapage du cheveu", meaning I had been dying my hair brown and it stripped my hair of all the colors I had previously done. After this my hair was of course orange randomly everywhere- he did a color over it and it turned out blondish-yellowish. I was prepared to wait a month to begin doing the highlights to turn my hair platinum blonde as I wanted it.
-Two days later I come home for the weekend to see my parents and they keep complaining about my hair. To finally shut them up I went and did highlights. Considering they didn't do the entire head, I had half of my head platinum blonde and the other half yellow... I kept doing anti-yellow shampoos but it wasn't working that that well.
-By this time my hair was completely fried so I cut it in a really short bob except I hated the hair cut. I'm about to be 27 in a couple of weeks so I told myself why not get a boy hair cut for once in my life, by the time I'll be the 30 It'll be back to my shoulders, (fingers crossed)
-I was impatient and tried to do my scalp myself with bleech bought in a box at a walmart-like store. Of course I got it all over my hair considering it's short, so that messed it up more... what happened was that my hair was finally completely white EXCEPT the scalp! The scalp was yellow? I read online I should've left it on my scalp for at least an hour....
-Today, I went to only get my scalp done... in certain lights it looks like it's white and in others it looks like she turned some parts of my hair back to yellow?!
IN ANY CASE- not caring about the color right now.
I cut it again a bit shorter considering all the damage.
But please, tell me how to save my hair. Yes, I know my hair is already dead- I can't make it as amazing as it was a month ago. But what are all the things I can do to cure it or make the best out of this bad situation
By the way- I can't go out for the next week, that's another story. So any suggestions of leaving conditioner or oils in my hair all day and night are accepted. All and any advice is welcomed and very much appreciated.
EDIT// will buy Olaplex when i have the money but for now i do not unfortunately.

Aside from Olaplex, I think the only major things to do are just deep conditioning and/or oil treatments. When my hair was fried, I found that these took my very frizzy hair down to a slightly less frizzy level until I washed it again. My hair definitely still looked damage, but I liked that it made it easier to comb. Hair conditioning masks with protein in them were also somewhat helpful, but again, my hair definitely still looked damaged.
I really only bothered with these treatments until my roots grew out to about 2-3 cm, since they were so time-consuming. My hair is pretty short, though. You might find that dyeing your hair darker will help it look healthier, though that's obviously a bigger risk if you want your hair lighter again in the future.

I wonder how they made it end up looking more yellow - did the hairdresser apply a toner or something to try and even it out? You might find that calms down after a couple of weeks.
As Vivienne said, it's all about conditioning it. The conditioner you were using before bleaching your hair probably won't be right for bleached hair. You'll need something a little heavier and more moisturising. I like to use Tresemme Purify & Replenish Re-moisturise Conditioner (white bottle with a green label) for day-to-day conditioning. Those little tubes of Clairol Nice N Easy conditioner are good for deep conditioning.
To keep the frizz down I use a treatment oil. My hair responds well to Argan Oil. I also use a few drops L'Oreal Extraordinary Oil on dry hair to help it look healthier. Some people have great success with Coconut oil treatments and for others it does nothing to their hair. It might take some experimentation.

Ever since this happened I've been going back-and-forth through oil treatments and deep conditioning mask's . My hair is now extremely short but even with a boy haircuts it gets really frizzy and you can tell it's completely damaged. I discovered olaplex Friday, some say to shampoo your hair before and after, which is what I did but I didn't get great results, only while it was wet did the results show. As soon as it will dry it would go back to looking damaged Today I went to another store and they told me to shampoo your hair before leave it in as long as you like and then rinse it out but do not shampoo iyour hair. Maybe it's because of the state that my hair is in, anytime I shampoo my hair it's chaos!
I was wondering for the yellow in my hair can I keep doing anti-yellow shampoos and I also have an anti-yellow conditioner that was recommended to me to leave it in my hair 10 minutes two times a week. Ibut I have to clarify that my hair isnt yellow yellow, it's just it was very very white before I went in and did the roots and once I got out it's not as white as it was before so...
