Getting rid of green/aquaPosted 3 years, 4 months ago
Hi guys, I'm very new to this. 6 months ago I had my hair professionally bleached and dyed a lovely mermaid mix of blue at the roots and aqua at the ends. Of course I can't afford to have that done all the time so I have been adding various colours to it myself since as it fades. I've tried every aqua out there which worked fine on top of both the blue and the aqua but then I started putting blue on both too when I was sick of the acqua... special effects blue velvet and later special effects electric blue initially looked OK on both colours. Now the bits that were originally aqua are fading to an unpleasant dull green/grey whilst what was the original blue at the top of my head still looks good. I would like to go to a violet/blue purple and was thinking that I could just put manic panic ultra violet on top of everything. Would that cover the green/aqua colour? Is there any way of getting rid of the green/aqua without damaging my hair? I have very thick, damaged, dry hair. Is there a better product out there for achieving a vibrant violet/blue that would get rid of the horrible green undertones? Thanks everyone in advance for all your help. I am in awe of everyone's knowledge!

if you put ultraviolet on its going to keep looking blue because its a very blue based purple. if you use a slightly warmer purple like arctic fox purple rain, adore purple rage, etc, then it can cancel out the green

Thank you so much for your advice! I'll put in an order for a warm purple right away.
