Going from teal to purple grey hairPosted 2 years, 5 months ago
Hi crazyhair lovers !!
At this point I'm completely lost with what I should do with my hair color so I'm asking for your lights and and need some serious advice about my hair color. I'm naturally light ash blonde and used to lighten my hair to medium platinum since year 2015.
In October 2016 I applied for the first time Hairgum haircolor in Pink. On december, I applied another Hairgum haircolor in Fushia. It faded nicely in nice pale pink. On March 2017, I applied Adore haircolor in Purple Rage all over my hair, including the roots. Since I did not bleach my hair at this moment, it faded nicely but there were orange shading at my roots (logic, purple pink + yellow blonde = orange)
At this moment I tried another color. I applied L'oreal Colorista in Denim Blue on my lengths and Colorista in Violet on the roots to create a beautiful galaxy hair effect. The denim blue over the faded pink resulted in a beautiful purple blue grey color. I still kept this color during 1 month then applied Loreal Colorista in Teal, thinking it will fade very quickly but it didn't, so I decided to try the total blue look with Crazy Color in Sapphire and Capri Blue. I touched up this color one month later with Blue Jade and Bubblegum blue. It was stunning and very vribant but the roots used to fade so quick (one or two shampoos tops) and it my hair are fading in a muddy pastel mint with some blonde green-ish shades. In June, when I wanted to make a heavy touch-up, I bleached my roots and mid-lengths, applied a white toner then Sapphire hair color but even with bleaching and white toning, the green-ish shades are coming back!
At this time I used to touch up my color with teal or dark blue haircolors. What a mistake ! Blue pigments are so hard to get rid of. I decided to make a heavy change on December 2017 because I wanted to have silver denim hair. I bleached all my hair to get rid of the blue and teal color but since I was so naive about it, I did not try to eliminate most of the color before bleaching because I thought the bleaching would have done all the job LOL. So I bleached and applied a white toner during one hour. My roots were very pale blonde (almost white) but my mid-lengths and lenghts were pastel mint... I still applied a mix of Crazy Color's Silver, Slate and Graphite hair color on it with a bit of Directions' Midnight blue to create a silver dark blue hair color. The result was so different (not bad but different than expected) : very light aqua silver hair. Since, I wash my hair with natural shampoo for silver hair and apply once a week a blue-pigmented mask mixed to a ash/brown mask to neutralize yellow and green tones. My roots are now more silver-ish but still pastel green. My hair are still pastel teal with some yellow tones.
Now I just want an expert to help me ! I don't want to go to hairdresser or colorist. I know how to neutralize yellow tones with purple blue mask but what are the steps now to get rid of the teal without waiting for my hair to grow ? I don't want to bleach again and I don't want to wash my hair too much with cleansing shamp because they're fragile, porous and I just wash them once a week and don't want to change this routine.
I want : 1) to eliminate green and teal tones and having a more neutral color (same on roots and lengths) 2) to eliminate yellow/blonde shades on the roots 3) to have a beautiful purple/grey hair color
What toner/mix/haircolor should I use to achieve this result ? Every suggestions is good to accept :) I'm hesitating between toning with orange-red then coloring with dark blue/purple then dark pink purple mixed with grey to eliminate the green... Thanks so much for reading and helping me xxx
And sorry for the mistakes (I'm French)

i would mix a grey like pravanna silver or ion titanium with a little bit of pink and test that it should give you a lavender grey since the pink will pull the blue green to purple

- Blue hair faded to light green—what will re-bleaching at this point do?
- color correcting left over teal, covering dark staining
- What do you do when you get the itch to change up your hair?
- green/teal to blonde?
- Trouble Going Green Ombre on Bleached + Unbleached hair with leftover Ion stain + looking for green based blacks?
