I need help making decisionsby Jude StaffPosted 2 years, 7 months ago
I have an appointment with my hairdresser to have some colour done next week (yay!). She's going to do some balayage to break up the darker hair at the back.
(Here's how my hair looks currently: https://www.haircrazy.com/timelines/Jude/2017/8/24/74033/)
I'm a bit apprehensive about relinquishing control, and I told her I might just colour it myself. At the same time, it would be really nice to not have to do my own colour. I can also bring my own dye or use the brand that she uses (Milkshake). So what do I do?
Option 1: Just have it bleached and colour it myself at home Option 2: Have it toned silver to match my natural grey and decide on colour later Option 3: Have it coloured at the salon
In addition to this, I'm having trouble making up my mind about the colours to go for. I was thinking of using this as inspiration and even doing a colour placement similar to this image, but would that even look alright with balayage? https://mir-s3-cdn-cf.behance.net/project_modules/1400/c89d5f57580223.59de247ae7b27.png
Another option would be to do colours similar to those that @vivienne has used here, with a bit more green: https://www.haircrazy.com/timelines/vivienne/2016/2/2/64368/
Any ideas? I have decision fatigue

I love that type of mirage sunset vibe, but my experience with it has been that it’s hard to incorporate the orange without having it too swallowed up or take up too big of a chunk. I do think that type of placement would look nice on a balayage though, since you’ve got some darkness at the top anyways. Anyways, if your hairdresser is good with colour, I think it’d look very cool.
Personally, I’d probably just do Option 1 or 2, because I don’t have the patience to sit around in a salon for hours. :P

I would go with option 1 if I were you since to me dying it is the fun part. I enjoy the creative process.

I agree with vivienne's ideas, and balayage with those colours would be nice. sweeping orange through the other colours with the darker ones on top. It would probably be quite fiddly to get all the colours on yourself so I would go with - option 3, the hairdresser doing the job.
