blond help!Posted 2 years, 6 months ago
hello guys. i like being blond but am having issues on which direction to take it. i've heard this is a pretty common problem for platinum blonds so apologies if this has already been asked.
naturally i'm a level 2 asian. i get all-over bleach to a 10 right now. it looks like this:
i love being platinum but I feel like it blends into my skin. it also can look a little fake, which I'm not a fan of. obviously i'm not fooling anyone, im asian lol but i just don't like the solid color. there's not much dimension in my hair and it's just straight white.
i'm looking to change to a very specific look - i would like to stay as platinum blonde as possible but have it look more natural. i would like a light ashy brown throughout the blonde pieces at my roots and maybe a little split up through my hair. here is a example. it's too dark for my liking and a bit too golden but it shows the design i want.
this model's hair as well:
this is a bit dark for me aswell but it shows the dimension I want, only I want it with a lighter, ashier brown.: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/8b/2e/04/8b2e04d1b3ba451b23cd35632ff00be2.jpg
this design is beautiful but i would want much much ashier& lighter (way too golden for me): https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564x/1f/17/20/1f1720d152c2c0e9fb84e6c865d8f1ec.jpg
i like how especially the 2nd pic still remain very light blond, but it is more of a natural look. I think "baby blond" describes what i want better than platinum - i don't necessarily want a striking white, but i want a very light, ash-toned natural looking blonde with dimension.
a few months ago i visited a beauty school and asked for this. they did traditional foil low lights with a level 8 colour. unfortunately im not sure what went wrong but it just made my hair look golden, it did not give me any dimension, which i hated. i really want to avoid gold tones in my hair if possible, i find it clashes with my skin. i used a colour remover and was able to get back to platinum. now i'm terrified this will happen again!
what do i ask the hairstylist for? how would i do retouches since my hair is so dark naturally?
