Refreshing multi-colored hair?by spoonysporkPosted 3 years, 1 month ago
So I'm currently in the process of slowly fading my hair -- had been refreshing it all over with teal, which worked out well (I had big chunks of blue, green, and purple), though it of course eventually turned various shades of teal all over (the purple surprisingly stayed purple too, though the teal has always been applied very diluted).
Now I'm wanting to do something a bit more dramatic. Mainly blue but with lots of streaks of various neon shades across the color wheel, over the all-over blue for maximum effect.
The problem is, how to keep it fresh? It was pretty easy with the big chunks in shades close to each other, but the plan is for things like... yellow, pink, lime green, and orange... all over dark blue. Do I just accept that I'll have to let it fade, or is there a technique to placing the colors so all of them will stay pretty close with a single all-over color refresh, or...?
There is of course a chance I won't be able to do the yellow and orange at all due to the teal hair, depending on how much I fade it - I know the dark blue, pink, and lime green will work already with the color I currently have, from a strand test (though the pink currently comes out a pinky-plum) but I'd still have the same question of refreshing that.

With multi-colored hair the challenge of refreshing the color is harder. Suggest add a little orange dye mixed with the conditioner and add only to the orange sections. Suggest do the same for the other colors.
