Ruined hair trying to go back blonde. Help?by Ravenelexia-Posted 2 years, 12 months ago
So I feel like I've completely ruined my hair. I've been blonde for the last few years, finally left my hair alone after so much damage from dying it in the past. Finally got it have decent & healthy. Then for some reason thought it'd be a good idea to go dark again even though I knew better. Now I'm totally regretting it like I knew I would.
Okay, first I wanted to color the top & roots black, and the rest a pastel pink thinking it would look cute & the majority of my hair wouldn't be too dark, but a light pink to where I could comfortably go back to blonde if I wanted to. Well the black dye I bought ended up being MIDNIGHT BLUE & completely mixed with the pink & turned all of my hair a dark BLUE/INDIGO color all over. So it ended up ALL being dark. So I thought instead of bleaching and doing too much damage, I'll just go all the way black until it gets back to a healthy stage to where I can work back to blonde. Well I hated the black too much, & was too impatient to wait to be blonde again. So I bought Color Oops. It took a lot of the dark color out in a short amount of time but left it a darkish brown & orange. So then I went back for more Color Oops, but they were out, so I got the Hair Color Removal Kit next to it. Well I think that damaged my hair even worse than anything. Not to mention didn't lighten it near as good as the color oops did the 1st time. So i thought if i got blonde hair dye i could just get to a natural looking stage even if it doesnt go all the way blonde. But NO. I apparently bought the worst cheapest blonde possible, 1.0 rating & turned some parts of my hair a tint of silver blue color. Now here is what my hair looks like & I'm just wondering WHAT DO I DO NOW??? I'm so depressed about it & have already damaged it so much. Should I try lightning again, bleach, toner, anything?? I can't keep it looking this way. How do i get it to a normal color. Help?

The Hair Color Remover is actually a dilute bleach, not a colour remover like Colour Oops, hence the fact that it was more damaging and didn't help take out the artificial colour very well. You may be able to do another round of colour remover eventually, since it doesn't do the same type of permanent damage as bleach, but if your hair is in a critical phase (elastic when wet), the dryness it causes may be enough to cause loads of breakage.
For now, if you want to do anything, it's got to be with a semi-permanent dye that does not require any peroxide. You can probably do most mid-toned unnatural colours, but your hair is probably too dark for an even pastel right now. With just regular washing, some of the silvery bit of blonde should fade out, but the dark orange sections from black probably won't fade noticeably.
