Color OopsPosted 3 years, 11 months ago
Just want to share an unusual experience with Color Oops.
I had bleached to platinum. After a few months, wanted my brunette color back, so used a box color and a few weeks later I found myself wanting my blonde back. So I Color Oopsed my hair and it did remove color to almost the color I had, but next day I decided to bleach-wash it up a little paler. My hair immediately returned to its previous brown. :(
Well, I decided I would need to Color Oops again, and wait a few weeks before trying anything else with my hair. Last night, I conditioned my hair -- slept with oils in it (olive, coconut and avocado) and some store bought conditioner, planning to Color Oops tonight. When I washed out the oils this morning, my hair immediately, gradually lightened back to blonde and when I look at the photos, it seems my bleach-wash was effective. It is a happy ending, but a strange transition. Thought someone would like knowing about this experience.
Oh gosh! Later today I notice my hair is darkening slowly again. I will report after the day is done again.

this happened to me yesterday! its called re--oxidation. basically colour oops works by making your dye molecules shrink but if you don't rinse them out 110% before using a peroxide based product (bleach or permanent dyes). also sometimes when not washed out all the way, it can just re-oxidize on it's own, hence it slowly darkening. my best advice is to wash it really well and rinse it for 20 minutes, shampooing with baby shampoo multiple times.
mine re-oxidized last night, I had black hair before colour oops then afterwards when I tried to bleach it went black again. I used another box of color oops and now my hair is gingery but bleach is not doing anything whatsoever when I do strand tests, not lightening it or turning it back black. does anybody know what the heck I should do?? I don't mind the colour but I'm trying to eventually go platinum. I have rinsed my hair for more than an hour since using it last
