    Hair struggles.

Hey all. 2 months ago I wanted to switch up my magenta hair. I did bleach 2 times and also did a bleach bath. I have pretty strong hair and also a lot of hairs but I don't want to put any bleach or peroxide in it anymore for a few months. I'm now stuck with a weird uneven color. I tried to tone the upper part of my hair because that's the most yellow part but it didn't really work. I did make my own toner with conditioner and violet from directions. Some parts are white-ish and other parts are just pure yellow/orange. This kind of blonde really doesn't suit me, I like it more cool toned. http://i.imgur.com/l1wxyV2.jpg http://i.imgur.com/fHM3mNX.jpg http://i.imgur.com/f1C3T59.jpg

What do you all think? Is this fixable with some kind of toner (non peroxide)? Or should I throw some color on it? Not sure if I can do pastel on this color tho? Colors I like are: http://i.imgur.com/9hfGRRo.jpg http://i.imgur.com/TrNL1ez.jpg http://i.imgur.com/H1Y9Nac.jpg http://i.imgur.com/yYYIHJr.jpg http://i.imgur.com/4Htcies.jpg The last one is from someone on this forum but I don't know her name but I'm pretty sure I've seen her on here. The last one is also the color I like the most from all the ones I posted. Will that be doable on my hair?

    Sorry for all these photos.

I'm not too experienced with toning bleached hair being that I have never gone blonde. But of course I would suggest some pastel colors! You are blonde now so why not make use out of it with some fashion colors!

The orange band around your ears is too dark for pastels, the lengths look fine. The only way to get rid of the orange would be to spot bleach, targeting just those areas. If you don't want to bleach again you will have to incorporate the orange into your colour scheme, you could have a peachy pink or light orange colour there, or something darker that will cover it. The bottom pic is @ksiepierski, she isn't very active on here anymore. She used pravana colours diluted, over a faded Atomic Pink base. She used Violet, Pink and Green to tone the pink and create the streaks https://www.haircrazy.com/timelines/ksiepierski/2014/6/9/49953/

I just tried this on my hair and it turned out a very patchy lavender, I agree that you will have to bleach that dark band and strand test some different colors to get the right leval to cover your hair pastels are very tricky,

Pastels like your pics need a perfect white base, which is impossible for most of us. Those pics are all wigs, (except the darker pink possibly, that is a more realistic colour) the colours you want are very difficult to achieve

Thanks for the link to her profile Wicked_Pixie! Aww okay, that sucks. But I kinda expected it... Well then I'm not sure what to do now :( This color looks kinda trashy on me and I don't want to bleach it again to be honest. What if I darken my upper part with some kind of medium brown and do an ombre effect. But I'm not sure if that will suit my hair, it's very full and super straight and not very long atm just above my bra on the back. Maybe the ombre effect will look weird? I normally only see curled ombre hair on the internet. http://i.imgur.com/6gagayz.jpg Something like this, it's beautiful on her but she has longer hair and not as straight.

Also, do Adore colors in brown, like a chocolate brown, work on this kind of blonde hair? Or will it look washed out? Maybe I'll try something natural for a change then.

Ugh this suck so much, a few years ago I had beautiful platinum hair and I screwed it up anguished

You could do a rainbow gradient with orange where the orange is, so pink at the root, then orange, then yellow where your hair is light again, then pastel green, blue, purple. Or a darker pink at the top fading into lilac and whatever other pastel you fancy on the ends. You could even try a lilac on the top part, it will go grey where the base is orange, but you could work that into your colour scheme You don't have to go dark, or natural, just use colours that work with the orange. Is the orange just the remainder of your natural colour (ie did you have long roots when you bleached?) or where you trying to bleach out old dye? It seems quite dark for two bleaches and a bleach bath. if it is old dye you can syill try a colour remover

No the orange is not old dye ( it has been dyed once like a half year ago) but I already did 3 color removers. I have had this problem before that some parts just don't want to go lighter, I had a dark spot in my hair after being blonde more then a year it just didn't go away even tho I tried to bleach it 5 times.

But I don't want to go too crazy with the colors. I thought pastel would be nice since it's so light. It has to stay a little natural because of my new work. I think I might go with the picture above and then do a little more crazy colors on the end. Is it possible to do a medium brown on the upper part and then fade it into the blonde? Do you think ombre looks good on super straight hair Pixie? And does Adore natural colors work on blonde hair? I'm afraid it will turn red.

Ombre only looks good on super straight hair if it is very well executed. You can get away with far more mistakes on wavy or curly hair lol. Adore browns will work on blonde bases, but you may need to keep layering it to get it to stay dark. had you considered grey? A dark grey root fading to silver would be pretty

Hmmm, grey to silver sounds very pretty. But I'm not sure if it will match my skintone. Haha yeah I've seen a few ombre's on straight hair and 9/10 of them looked afwull like a straight line lol grinning

If I were you I'd do a dark pink to pastel pink ombre. Correct me if I'm wrong @wicked_pixie but a pink like MP hot hot pink (which is available at Sallys is why I chose it) would go over the darker area fine on your hair. Then just dilute it to apply on the bottom for a more pastel pink. I think it would look very pretty, even on straight hair. Separate your hair into 2 sections if you plan to dilute it on the bottom. OR you could just put it over it like it is & stop a couple inches from the bottom & then when you rinse just let it sort of rinse through the areas you left clean & it would create a pink pastel effect on the bottom & the rest would be pink. You could also do this with some sort of purple - purple covers everything. Or even a red. Just choose a color you like. And I think it would turn out very pretty!

Just want to add I also like your idea of dying the top a natural brown & doing an ombre into some pastel shade of some sort. It would look very pretty. And I happen to think it would even look pretty on straight hair. If you are looking for something more natural then I would do this. Actually, I love red so if I were you personally I'd do a red ombre. Apply like Vampire Red by MP to the top & then maybe Pillar box Red or Rock&Roll Red by MP onto the bottom. OR you could even do the VR on top & do a diluted hot hot pink or the bottom. OR just do the VR on top & leave a few inches on the bottom without any color & when you rinse, let the color rinse over those & it'll stain them a very light red/pink. So either way it would fade from a red to pink gradient/ombre type thing. That would be gorgeous! Even on straight hair imo. You have so many various choices. You can basically do any sort of dark shade to pastel shade ombre on it. I think it'd be very pretty to do that!

Also just want to also add that if you have straight hair you can always use some texture product or even gel to crimp it some when it's wet & as it dries & create some messy waves. Give it some more texture.

There's also a article on this site for hair style where you can create waves naturally without any product or heat. I tried it on my straight hair a few weeks ago (picture of me & son on my time line where my hair has waves in it, before I chopped 5in off). I actually tweaked it a little. I just separated my hair into 2 sections - left & right. Then I took one section & twisted it & clipped it on top of my hair. I did this after washing it & it was only towel dried, I followed this article completely: http://www.prettygossip.com/2013/03/08/how-to-get-beacy-waves-with-no-heat/ with the exception that I started with towel dry hair, it was still fairly wet. I think in the article she only had hers barely wet. But I knew mine would need to completely dry while twisted up if I had any chance of it actually holding. Anyways I didn't use any products & followed these exact steps, clipped it up, wrapped it up in a silk nightgown (to prevent friction causing it to frizz up) & slept on it & when I woke it was mostly dry. But I took a blow dryer to it on low setting just to finish up drying it completely, before I ever took it down. Then when I took it down I just finger-combed it out some. I got a lot of compliments on it it looked very well. I didn't use any hair spray or product at all & my hair held it for 3 days until I washed it again. I actually liked it better the 3rd day, cause it turned into some really messy waves that were really cute! Try it! :) don't be scared to be an ombre because your hair is straight just try some other styles on it & maybe try some texture adding products to give some more texture to it & create some messy waves.

Yes, brighter colours would cover this base without issue. It is only pastels and light blues that won't work over the darker areas

Pink is also way more forgiving then lavender shades, hot hot pink diluted would cover the orange bits easily ( about half condish half pink)then dilute it down further for the ends, it dilutes to fab pastel

I agree I've saw hot hot pink diluted to a pastel & it'd GORGEOUS! You have a lot of options. But an ombre or gradient of sorts is your best options. It's good that your yellow/darker area is on top & not vise versa because that makes it perfect to go from dark to light :). Keep us updated on what you decide. I'm curious to see what you do with it & how it turns out!

for me why not to not trying to do the pastel if you want it so much? your hair is long and nice! and your base is very light expect the parts you point, buuut as your hair is long with the pink pastel and the darker spots can create a natural rose gold shadow ! look at this video she (i dont know why lol) but she have done very bad bleach job, yours looks gorgeous in frond of her :P But she did the pastel and it looks good ;) (check and videos after) https://youtu.be/iZRXO39IEUQ Remember!!! yours looks very much better ;)

If you wanted to do a ombre affect one of the best ways to do it to stop that line is to backcomb your hair. I used to do it to mine all the time and the blend was amazing.

Basically, section your hair then backcomb so you have about half of the original thickness, if not less, in your hand. The bit thats left is what you put the bleach/colour on. foil and repeat. I used to do it with bleach so it was a lot simpler as i didn't have to try and fill in the gaps around it when covering with another colour/ putting the brown in.

I dust a little bit of colour onto the tips of my backcomb, so i go all the way to the top of the length of hair right up to the backcomb and get a little bit on the tips, then once you wash it out and brush it you have varying lengths of colour.

Thanks so much for all the replies! Sorry for my late response, had a very busy day. So many great ideas :D I have alot to think about haha, not really sure what I want to do but I will definnitly post a photo :) A red ombre or pink ombre sounds very pretty but I wanted to do something more subtle that's why I choosed pastel shades. But maybe I will do something more bright :P But what about color bleeding if the top is a darker shade? The last dye I tried bleeded sooooo much omygod every time I washed my hair everything was pink. What about a dark purple to a lavender/lilac on the botom? Or what about this kind of pink, it's a little darker then the other ones and I believe it's cotton pink from MP http://i.imgur.com/FV0oD7V.jpg

And doing an ombre is just so scary I'm afraid I will mess up the gradient effect and have an ugly straight line. I've seen that happen so many times. Thanks Kwells for the hair tutorial! I will deffinitly try that, it looks so pretty! I never heat style my hair because my hair already has been through alot so I'm really hoping this will work on my hair :D I've never had curls/wavy hair before.
