Bleach worriesby Ember_RainPosted 11 years, 2 months ago
Hi i haven't bleached all of my hair in about 7 years and truth be told i hardly remember that. Since the last time i bleached it i had a baby so i let my real color come through. But since THEN i started to dye it a dark red brown color and now have a few blondish streaks in the front mainly. What i guess i'm trying to get at is how should i go about the bleaching i know i'll need to get any cool color to show up? Should i do it myself or go pro? Any suggestions on what to do will be greatly appreciated!

Well, it depends, since you haven't bleached it in such a long time, it should lighten fairly well, but then you did say that you put some red into it a while back, depending on how much of the red has faded, you may be able to reach a good pale blond with a 30 vol bleach, however like I said the red worries me. But bleach does remove all color, you just may have to process it a few times instead of once to get the brassiness the red will want to leave behind! I have noticed that Kaleidiscope sp? has really good powder bleach with toner added, they have violet and a blue toner, also on without, but that stuff lightens really well!
