Pink hair problemby SuiDreamPosted 6 years, 7 months ago
For about 3 years I had blue hair, I just loved my hair so much and it made me so happy but suddenly I started loving pink again and I just needed pink hair! I faded the blue hair (that was dyed with Manic Panic Atomic Turquoise) and bleached it later. After bleaching my hair 3 times in a month the ends were still mint green, but I was told that I should just put the pink dye on and it would do the job. Now my hair is a disaster! I used Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink with some conditioner and the roots are neon pink and with some orange stains, the middle is faded pink and the ends that were green seem to have grown and are now purple!
The picture blended the colours, it actually looks way more awful. I don't know what to do, my hair is probably too fragile for bleach, is there anything else I could do? Or I should I prepare my hair for more bleach in a couple of weeks?

What I did to achieve a lovely pink after blues is putting a red based colour over it. I myself mixed manic panics' Vampire Red with Directions Flamingo pink (allmost undiluted) and walked around with a VERY pnik head for 3 days before I washed it a few times with head & shoulders to soften the colour. After this the blues and minty-colours were gone and I had a soft pastel pink which I could easily maintain. (pics in my timeline)
Hope it was usefull! :3
P.s I think your hair is stained with the blue like mine- further bleaching wont do a thing.

I really like it, maybe do an intentional pink to lilac gradient? A darker pink is more likely to cover, the pink you have on is very pastel. If you want it all the same colour you can put some blue on the top parts so your base is more even (it will be lilac but even) and then put your darker pink over the top.
I did then what I knew then, & when I knew better, I did better.

Thank you both so much! ♥️ I'm feeling so much better knowing that I can fix my hair. I'm going to try dying it again with a darker pink that I have so it can cover the purple a little more and later I'll buy some red dye to mix it up with the darker pink.

Another note mp cotton candy tends to go warmish on any color not white, I'd try diluting hot hot pink, or if you can diluting something like virgin rose, it comes out awesome on lots of bases
