Color Oops with Curly Hairby PurpPlzPosted 5 years, 2 months ago
I'm trying to get back into the crazy hair color thing, after having plain dark brown/black hair for almost 2 years. (My hair was so fried from bleaching for the longest time.)
I bleached a section of my hair and it only lightened a little bit. Granted my hair is dark, but before I tried bleaching again it all, I used Color Oops! Extra Strength, thinking maybe some old hair dye was getting in the way. My hair did lighten some, but not in all places. This was 2 days ago and my biggest concern is washing all the Color Oops out before I bleach again.
The thing is, I have curly hair, and don't really use shampoo on my hair. I used it when I washed out the Color Oops! but I need to use shampoo every time I wash it the next few showers, or can I just use shampoo or an ACV rinse? Shampoo makes curly hair so dry, and it's already dry from the Color Oops! and will be even more when I bleach it.
Also, does anyone know how to get rid of the smell from Color Oops!, it's out of my shower but the smell is still lingering in my sink.

I know the stuff reeks but it really works! I would definitely use shampoo a couple times and condition it good- be careful with the bleach though! Remember if you're going a funky color esp a dark one you don't have to be platinum underneath, just need enough to open up the porosity of the hair. It can be neon orange and uneven if the end result you want is a deep red or purple, hope that helps. Also I found that once the vegetable funky colors went on my hair it sealed the hair shaft and made it much shinier and in better condition
Long and strong is my goal!
