(Sorry if this is in the wrong area. Wasn't really sure where to ask this!) Since going blue, I ended up in ulta and a guy working over by the urban decay rack filled in my eyebrows to match, and it looked AWESOME. I never thought of myself doing such a thing, it seemed like a little too much and would maybe be something I would do if I was going out to the bar or dancing. However after having someone actually do it, I now love the way it looks and ended up buying some Anastasia Hypercolor brow filler and a large palette with a bunch of different blues and other colors, so now i can do it daily if I felt like it. So how many of you fill your eyebrows in to match your "crazy" hair color? Did you find that more people gave you stares when doing this, or was the amount of looks about the same? (I live in LA, so I can't imagine it being any worse, in fact when I came home from Ulta my family didn't even notice my now blue eyebrows. Haha.) And what is your method of filling your brows in? :-)
My eyebrows are so dark that it's difficult to fill them in any lighter color, even if I use white makeup on top of it. I'd also have to fill them in a darker purple than the one I use in my hair, since I find light eyebrows kind of garish unless they're on a natural blonde.
I dont...too hard to keep up with for me personally. But yours look FRICKIN AWESOME!!!!
I have naturally white blonde brows, which I used to fill with brown pencil, but since dyeing my hair silver the brown didn't look right and silver would have been too light so I dyed them black and I love how they look. Your blue brows look great. I think whether to match brow colour to unnatural colour depends on the unnatural colour - if its quite a deep colour then brows look good matching, if its lighter I think a darker brow works better, but in a cool or warm tone to go with the hair's tone.
I did when I had purple-black hair. My brows are so dark that they tend to look really odd when filled in with any color other than their natural color. With my current hair, I'm not sure how magenta or orange brows would look with my face. I might just have to do them with a similar gradient just once to see.
I used to lighten my black brows and pencil/powder them in with an ash blonde. Now that I'm keeping silver hair, I really like the look of my black brows with it!
If my brows were naturally lighter and didn't require lightening them to fill them in to match my hair color, I'd definitely do it more often because yours look GREAT!
My brows are really dark but really thin so I always fill them in. When my hair was red, I would fill them to match, but now I mostly keep them dark brown for everyday but I do like to match them or play around with gradients and different colors when I'm going out or something. It's fun!
I wish I was Nymphadora Tonks.
I personally don't. I've tried twice, once with pink to match my hair, and another with blue. Neither of them seem to suit me :( so I just stick with brown. Yours look great though!
I bleached my eyebrows and dyed them pink to match once. I actually loved it a lot. I'm blonde at the moment and I dyed them to match too because my natural brows are like a dark auburn and it looks really strange with blonde. I don't bother filling though as it takes too much effort.
Question! Was some kind of primer set down on your brows before being filled in? Because they look dark in the first pic, then light in the second!
I ask because that would be an awesome way to have temporarily matched brows!
@CuddlyCactus Its not primer, its NYX's jumbo pencil in the color "Milk". :)
There is a girl on youtube user 'zWinnieYap' who does anime eye makeup tutorials which include eye-brows. She uses some sort of craft glue on her black eyebrows, then applies a concealer, foundation and powder -- then goes on to creating the brows she wants. I have never tried it, but from what I have seen her do it looks like a great way to cover your dark brows and then draw on whichever ones you want. It seems really cool to be able to change the shape so drastically day-to-day.
I have done my brows pink with my pink hair once. I really like to do-up my eyeshadow & liner and I think that coloring brows to match hair looks nice with a more natural style of makeup ( on me at least ) -- I don't like to have 'too much' going on.
@BandiBaby I know exactly what you mean. :p I like having my make up look nice, polished and well put together, but I don't want my face to look like a costume. If you know what I mean. Overwhelming, you don't know where to look first.
@darklittlefaun -- I think those blue brows would look super cute with a metallic gold shadow though
@BandiBaby The guy that did my eyebrows, put a metallic glittery silver eyeshadow on my lids and I felt like an intergalactic space princess. It was pretty cool. ;~;
It looks soooooo good!
A friend of mine has teal hair and does her eyebrows like yours all the time, I'm super envious! I have really light skin/hair that's currently Atomic Pink.. I also own NYX Milk. I feel like this sort of thing would work easier with a liquid felt-tip pen or something, and I have no clue where to buy Anastasia products (I looked them up, I'd never heard of them, I'm Canadian). Do you think someone might be able to recreate a similar look with something like UD Woodstock Liquid eyeliner? Or is that a dumb idea (I know it has some sparkle to it, hah!) ? I own various shades of pink eyeshadow and while they're pigmented and look nice as shadows, they don't show up nicely at all even over "Milked" brows. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
TL;DR - you're the best and I'm asking you all sorts of questions now.
I lighten my eyebrows enough to be a gold blonde, then I go in with a blush rose lip liner to fill in first, then with an angle brush, i mix magenta eye shadow with a faded purple brown. I shape them and fill with this to get a dusty pink brown color. I HATE when eyebrows are waaaaay too dark for a hair color or not even remotely matching...they definitely should NOT be the exact same shade IMO, but a somewhat darker, muted version of your current color.
@blueberrydoom I have never used liquid eyeliner to fill in brows, so I am not sure how that would look/work, I personally like a more natural look, so I try to steer clear from products that are super heavy, which I feel liquid eyeliner would be, since its easier to put more if its not heavy enough rather than take away if its too much, like with salt when cooking. (I hope that metaphor makes sense, haha.) Also I tend to stay away from shimmers. Are you using a matte eyeshadow? All my shadows are matte. Here is a video from a girl on youtube that does it exactly how I do it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmaMTxncRVY My eyebrows are pretty thin/light, so maybe that's why its so easy for me but I know its possible for dark brows too.
