Out of curiousity how many others have a “Mallen streak?” I inherited it from my maternal grandmother who calls it her witch’s mark. What are some other names you’ve called it?
What's a mallen streak? Is that a white or grey spot of hair that's caused by a birthmark or trauma?

I have a Mallen Streak. I also inherited mine from my maternal grandmother. There is one other woman in my family who inherited it, too. We are all first-born daughters, and it is indeed a Witches Mark, in our family at least - all three of us have Gifts. We've always called it our Witch Streak.
The scientific name for it is Poliosis.
I have a bit of hair at the front of my forehead that is about 3 shades lighter than the rest of my hair, before I bleached and dyed my hair people would ask if I had done it on purpose, I doubt it's a streak and I have no idea of my family history!
@Folk-Laur my son was born with a lot of red marks on his skin that looked like birthmarks, including one on his scalp, they were called haemangiomas and classified as a benign tumor, also known a 'stork marks' among other things, and he had treatment to shrink them, interestingly the hair on his scalp where it used to be is no different in colour or density than the rest.
I'm not sure if mine counts but I have a large streak of pure white in my hair. It started greying when I was 15 and by the time I was about 30 (I'm not sure, I've been dyeing my hair so much) it was fully white. It's at the top of my head on the left side. I have much, much less grey on the right side and it's not really the usual pattern for natural greying which tends to start at the temples and behind the ears.
I don't have any good pics of it as a streak, but when I part my hair on that side it looks like the whole top area of my hair is grey. (https://www.haircrazy.com/timelines/Jude/2017/8/24/74033/).
Apparently one of my mum's cousins has the same.
I'd never heard of poliosis/mallen streak/witch's mark before. Interesting!
