I'm a massive fan of cream blusher as a little goes a looooooong way and I enjoy a healthy glow (sometimes too healthy, haha)!
I also enjoy lip stains as I then don't have to worry about re-applying, but that's usually a nighttime look anyway. During the day I like Vaseline's rose lip balm as I like the smell of roses, keeps my lips moisturized (duh!) and has a bit of a pink tint.
For eyes I used to have quite a collection of chunky eye pencils, they were really soft so a breeze to put on and in various shades so I could layer up, put different colours in different areas... Alas with moving back home they have all gone walkies which really gripes me sometimes!

Coconut oil and argan oil. I always get Argan oil for christmas as it is quite pricey, so I am too mean to buy it lol. I use both for my hair and on my face. i use coconut oil as a body moisturiser, lip balm and the base for exfoliating treatments too, it is very useful stuff. i also use it on the animals and give it to my dogs as a supplement and natural wormer.
I did then what I knew then, & when I knew better, I did better.

As someone who fights adult acne (and is currently winning-- finally!), I'm OBSESSED with skincare.
My favorite brand is Paula's Choice. I use a toner, an AHA exfoliant, and a moisturizer from them, and it's all awesome!
Another skincare ritual I've gotten myself into is a weekly clay mask. I hate any masks that have scents and chemicals and all that in it, so what I get is called Aztec Secret-- it's powdered bentonite clay. I take a tablespoon of that and pour in a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and let it sit without mixing while I shower. Directly after showering, before any moisturizers, I put the concoction on my face and let it get nearly dry. Wash it off, put on regular moisturizer before bed and we're done! It's really helped my skin a lot!
I'm also a fan of hot/overnight oil soaks for my hair with coconut and argon oil!
For makeup, it's all about winged eyeliner for me!

My current favorites are:
Coconut oil; I liked Spectrum but will probably get a fair trade brand like Nutiva for my next jar
Punky Colour hair color
Aveda Lip Saver balm (this is a little expensive but it is truly amazing; I love all the Aveda stuff but some of it gets pricey)
Cure Care conditioner from Sally (works great to dilute dyes as well)
I'm not really brand loyal on anything else; I usually get what's on sale unless I know it's awful! If you don't have it, a good makeup brush set is a must-have, and many synthetic bristle sets are just as good as the natural sets.
Sweet freedom whispered in my ear...you're a butterfly...and butterflies are free to fly...fly away...

Argan oil and Tea Tree Oil for my face. Keeps it moisturized and cuts down on my acne. Win-win. And DevaCurl NoPoo as my facial cleanser (not joking - it works amazing, who cares if it's a hair product).
Other than that, I have no loyalties. I'm fickle. LOL

Tigi products are my jam, always (Going to a Toni&Guy cosmetology school makes me biased). My favorites are the Urban Antidotes shampoos and conditioners, manipulator in the Bed Head line, and smoothing lusterizer in the S Factor line. As for non hair related, I swear by Anastasia of Beverly Hill's dip brow pomade, I use it in soft brown, and my eyebrows are near perfect every time.

I have really sensitive skin and normal exfoliators make it red and dry so my favourite skin product is Elemis Papaya Enzyme peel which just kind of dissolves the dead skin without scrubbing.
Makeup, I really like the urban decay naked 2 palette. I also love YSL mascara but it's expensive so I hardly ever have it.

not helpful for christmas gift ideas, but i'm loving all the stuff i make for myself as beauty products.
foundation: mix talc or bezonite clay with beetroot powder, tumeric and cocoa powder and mix with sunscreen or moisturizer. Finally! a foundation that isn't too yellow for my super-yellow toned skin, colour corrector mixed to perfection!
powder: as above just without the sunscreen/moisturiser
mascara, cheap > expensive: do a layer of mascara, use a cotton bud to put on a layer of talc, do another coat. if you do it 3 or 4 times then it looks like you're wearing fake lashes!
lipstick: mix crayons with coconut oil and melt them, let them solidify and voila!
tinted lip balm: do the above with vasaline or less crayon to coconut oil ratio
gel eyeliner: mix eyeshadow with beeswax and a few drops of olive oil, melt and let solidify.
might give you some ideas if you get some eyeshadows you don't like the look of, you can smash them and mix them and make the gel eyeliner, or you can make them pressed with a few drops of vodka and a coin. If you get lipsticks you don't like the look of you can melt them down and put them together in a little pot (maybe add some crayon in and go crazy, or a bit of coconut oil and turn it into a lip balm) kinda hoping i get things i don't like now, lol!

ooh this is a fun topic as I'm a bit of a product junkie to say the least. here's what I've been into as of lately,
. For shampoos and conditioners Pureology is my go to brand. It's a bit expensive but super concentrated so it goes a long way and is amazing on my hair. So far I've tried strength cure and hydrate, both of which are amazing. And the perfect for platinum hair mask and leave in are both great for disguising bleach damage lol.
. For styling products I tend to use tigi and Paul Mitchell for the most part. Some of my faves atm are "reformer" by paul mitchell which is great for textured looks and then I've always used hard head which is a great super heavy hold spray (kenra no. 25 is a great heavy hold as well).
. As far as skin care goes my products are all over the place. My skin care products are all from different brands as I'm still trying to find my favorites lol.

For 5 weeks I use Superdrug’s Green Apple & Tea Tree Shampoo and Pro Naturals Moroccan argan oil leave in treatment before drying and styling. Every 6th week I use Pro Naturals hair repair system I don’t use dyes but I am addicted to using hair chalks today I have orange and navy streaks in amongst my grey/white hair! Face & neck I use Monsia Skincare Foundation: Boots #7 Foundation Match Made Service no powder and only Maybellie dark grey mascarra Body, hands & feet: I use unrefined shea butter mixed with jojoba oil (from Naissance on Amazon). As shea butter is very good for my face and neck I wanted to use it for body, hands & feet as well. Seems to be working very well.
