How we Use your Photos

Last updated: 6th August 2013

If you're adding photos to HairCrazy, here are a few things you may be interested to know.

By uploading photos you're giving us shared rights to your images. What does this mean? It means that you're allowing us to display your photos on and (and any future sister sites), and also giving us permission to modify your images and create derivative works (encorporating your photo into something new, e.g. if we made a photo collage using your image).

Usually the only modifications we'll make are to resize your photos and watermark them to prevent other people using the images without permission. Sometimes if we really like a photo we'll use it for promotional purposes, like on our business cards. Generally we'll just display your photo watermarked in your timeline or in our galleries.

We respect your wishes and if you would like to remove your photo from our galleries you can get in touch and ask us to remove it. We retain a copy of image for our records but it will be no longer shown on the site.

For legal reasons it is absolutely essential that you only upload photos to which you own the full copyright. For example, if you had a photo-shoot with a professional photographer, the photographer would usually retain rights to the image unless otherwise arranged. In this case you may not upload your photos here because the rights are not yours to share with us and you would cause HairCrazy to be in breach of copyright.
